Hotels Under 100 Bucks A Night

100dollarbill_full On a budget? There are a number of hotels in the ATA hotel block under 100 bucks a night.

The Archery Trade Association offers four hotels in its hotel block, each priced at $99 per night. Hotels are eight miles from the convention center and, to some folks, a little distance ain't that bad.

"(We) very much liked having a hotel in the ATA block that was outside the heart of the city," said Pete Schantz, ATA member and president of Al & Pete's Sport Shop. Schantz stayed at La Quinta East last year in Indianapolis, a hotel outside of its city's downtown area.

When asked why Schantz prefers the outskirts, he cited the savings.

"We really have to watch our dollars," he said. "When we used to stay downtown, even if you could walk to the convention center, you'd have to battle traffic to get a bite to eat and the restaurants in the downtown area were very pricey. We save about a third of the average cost by eating near the hotels on the outskirts and the traffic is nowhere near as bad."

All four hotels highlighted below offer free shuttle service to the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Plus, when you're looking for an oasis of affordable eats, less traffic and a bit of space, the inconvenience in distance can also be considered a benefit
