Meet “Black Death”

While hunting notorious Cape buffalo in Africa, ATA Board member Scott Shultz never anticipated the dangers he faced or the bizarre events that put him face to face with “Black Death.” Scott Shultz has bowhunted Cape buffalo several times in Tanzania and South Africa, including hunts that earned him three Cape buffalo heads and memories to last a lifetime. But a recent hunt near Kimberley, South Africa, proved to be an entirely different adventure for the president/owner of Robinson Outdoors.

Trade Show attendees have reported this week of organizations other than the Archery Trade Association pedaling hotel offers for the 2014 ATA Trade Show. These organizations have not been endorsed by the ATA nor are they partners of the ATA or its Trade Show. If you choose to book your hotel outside of the official ATA hotel block and/or if you choose to book your room through an organization other than the Nashville Housing Bureau, you will do this at your own risk.

Archer Nominated for ESPY

Paralympic gold medalist and California native Jeff Fabry has been nominated for an ESPY Award in the "Best Male Athlete With a Disability" category. The ESPY's will be broadcast live on ESPN July 17 at 9 p.m. ET. Fabry, who shoots a compound bow and had a breathtaking rise to the podium in London after an equipment failure that nearly eliminated him from competition, is one of 11 Paralympians nominated for an ESPY this year.
