During a stop on their “Here’s to the Good Times” tour, one-half of country music duo Florida Georgia Line picked up a new bow at Buck Stop, an ATA member, in West Dundee, Ill. They may spend most of their time playing music together but Tyler Hibbard and Kelley also enjoy hunting and fishing together, according to USA Today.
Oklahoma's first archery park opened with a $40,000 grant from the Archery Trade Association and city assistance. The park will be open daylight to dark year-round for archers and bowhunters, and is free to use. Coweta schools were the first in the state to implement National Archery in the Schools, which could provide a built-in fan base for the park. More than 400 schools in Oklahoma now have NASP programs.
The ATA Board of Directors voted unanimously in mid-October to add Tom Gallagher of Cabela’s and Dean Snelson of Bass Pro Shops to two new Board seats created for the association’s “multi-channel retailer” members. Gallagher is Cabela’s senior director of merchandising, and Snelson is Bass Pro’s divisional merchandise director. Their additions boost the size of the ATA Board to 18 members.
