The ATA is now accepting nominations for its 18-member Board of Directors. Four positions will be contested in 2014, with the election taking place by mail and ending March 1.
ATA Board terms last three years. Directors elected in March 2014 will take office April 1, 2014, and serve through March 31, 2017. The directors whose terms expire in March 2014 are Greg Easton, president, Jas. D. Easton Inc.; Mike Ellig, president, Black Gold; Ben Summers, director of operations, T.R.U. Ball Release Products; and David White, president/CEO, Hot Shot Manufacturing.
Jay McAninch, ATA president/CEO, encourages members to run for the Board if they have ideas about how the ATA should use its resources and revenues. “Serving on the Board requires extra work and commitment, but you can make a difference,” McAninch said. “ATA Board members participate in decisions that affect many segments of the archery and bowhunting industry, including ATA memberships, the annual ATA Trade Show, community archery projects, ATA rules and regulations, and relationships with other industries and government agencies.”
Who’s qualified to run? All companies that are regular members can nominate their CEO or someone on their leadership team. Although individuals are elected, the company is the actual Board member. Individuals elected to the Board act on behalf of their employer. If an elected individual leaves a company, the company retains the Board seat and can name a representative to finish the term.
Nominees must submit their name, contact information, regular member company affiliation, and agree in writing to stand for election. Those interested must fill out the Board election biographical form and submit by Dec. 31, 2013. The form is available at:
