Archery Thrives Two Years After Virginia’s First Archery Academy

Two years after the first Archery Academy in Doswell, Va., the sport is growing. The Academy – hosted by the Archery Trade Association, USA Archery and the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries – taught archery basics to 26 employees of state parks and recreation departments. The Archery Park Guide, developed by the Archery Trade Association (ATA), is the first of its kind. It offers 41 pages detailing how to build a community archery park. The Guide includes site plans and recommendations, tips from city and state officials who have already built parks and case studies from a variety of different locations. Information on risk management and a breakdown of each park's amenities and costs (where available) are also features of this park guide.
