Day 1, 3:00 p.m. | Archery Academy Packs Them In

Nearly 350 archery dealers flooded "seminar row" early Monday morning as the ATA Archery Academy kicked off the 2013 ATA Trade Show, a whopping 30-percent jump from Day 1 attendance at last year's show in Columbus, Ohio.

Monday's most popular class of the 11 seminars — held in rooms 101 through 112 near the main registration area — was Len Marsh's bow-tuning tips, which drew 95 dealers.

The Archery Academy features top industry professionals delivering insights on a range of topics. These include bow tuning, bow maintenance, shooting form, crossbow tips, cashing in on social phenomena such as "The Hunger Games," and many other secrets for building and growing an archery business.

Monday's other top seminars were:
- Bernie Pellerite's "Understanding Bow Fit and Balance," 46 attendees;
- Teresa Iaconi's "Harness ‘The Hunger Games' to Boost Your Shop's Visibility," 42;
- Paul Cwiklinski's "Whitetail Food Plots for Small Acreage," 36

All Archery Academy seminars begin at 7:15 a.m. daily and run no later than 8:15 a.m. to accommodate the ATA Trade Show's 8:30 starting time. Eleven more seminars will be held Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

A continental breakfast for seminar attendees begins at 6:45 a.m., just down the hall to the right of the main entrance. Coffee and juice is available in the hallway, and bagels, yogurt and muffins are available in each seminar room.
