Day 1, 5:12 p.m. | Outtech Innovations Honors Olympians, Custom Chopper
Never before has Outtech's sales and marketing specialists rolled more silver and chrome onto its Innovations show stage than it did Sunday night when the company featured the U.S. men's Olympic archery team and the "American Choppers" TV team.
Soon after the Outtech Innovations XV event kicked off at 7 p.m. Sunday, the capacity crowd of archery dealers and exhibitors welcomed the silver-medal-winning team of Brady Ellison, Jake Kaminski and Jacob Wukie to the stage. The young Olympians missed winning the gold medal in London by just one point. The U.S. archery team also spoke to archery dealers about the benefits of starting Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) clubs while at the show.
If you've forgotten, the trio rallied twice in late July to reach the gold-medal match of the men's team competition. They won the Olympic silver medal despite fighting strong, unpredictable winds that carried some of their 24 arrows just off the mark on the 70-meter range in the finale.
Shortly after the silver medalists left the stage, Outtech President Jay Scholes stood aside for Paul Teutul Jr. — a.k.a. "Junior", or "Paulie" — of "American Choppers" on the Discovery Channel. Paulie then revved up the crowd as his father, Paul Teutul Sr., gunned a camo-clad Harley-Davidson chopper with chrome 6-point elk antlers up a ramp and onto the stage.
The Teutuls were commissioned to build the chopper as a special bowhunting promotional vehicle. Archery dealers who wish to bring the chopper to their town promote their store can arrange a visit through their Outtech representative.
